What is it called to be a computer tech that works on business computers?
There so many different computer tech stuff like Computer Programming, Computer Support Specialists, Computer Systems Analysts. I just want to know what it would be to go work on computers like store or business computers mess up or like tearing computer apart and repairing them. what would them be called?
Most businesses, unfortunately, will call them something different at each…the "IT Dept" at most offices, does all that you describe…classes at most schools will call it computer repair or small office machine repair…these days, it is good to know it all…(makes you more marketable)…and it is an excellent field to get in to…
How do I get my computers to share files?
I have two computers connected in my house with a router, both wired, although they are wireless capable(no wireless cards, yet, just the router). How can I share files between the two computers? Can I use a web browser to browse through the HD of the other computer? Or am I going to have to do some sort of artificial server set-up?
You have to run your set up a home or small office network wizard which is in your network connection window on the left side. You have to do this on both computers and make sure you give both computers the same work group name or they can’t connect to each other. Then after you establish a connection between the to you just have to right click on the folders you want to share and go down to sharing and security and click on that and check share this folder, you can also check allow user you make changes so you can make changes to that folder from the opposite computer. Might sound complicated but it’s not the wizard is easy to use and if you don’t want to share a folder any more just go back through and uncheck share folder.

Performing Successful Data Recovery for Computers
If you have work files, private financial information or bookkeeping stored on your computer, this could be the most important article that you will ever read. As with any electronic device, glitches can occur without warning and, when it comes to computers, they can often result in the loss of important files. But, what if there was some way to recover the data that you thought was lost? For many, this theory is music to your ears. The good news is, however, that it’s not a theory because your computer may have an excellent data recovery capability that you didn’t even know about.
The first and most reliable way to ensure data recovery is to make a back-up copy of your file(s) and store them onto a CD or another location in your computer. In some cases, you may even prefer to store a back-up file on a different computer. This will help greatly in the event that your original file becomes corrupted or is missing.
If you are operating your computer using Microsoft Windows XP, you may use the System Restore feature to undo harmful changes to your computer and restore its settings and performance. System Restore returns your computer to an earlier time (called a restore point) without causing you to lose recent work, such as saved documents, e-mail or history and favorites lists. As an added benefit, any changes that System Restore makes to your computer are completely reversible. You may access this feature by clicking on Programs, then Accessories and choosing the System Restore feature. This will work as an effective data recovery method for most computer users.
If you experience problems with your startup screen, you may be able to restart the system in Safe Mode. This will allow for you to make some changes and access several features in an effort to find the problem. In Safe Mode, you will only have access to basic files and drivers, but will not be able to logon to the internet.
If you are still experiencing difficulty with data recovery, you may find success with inserting the appropriate Restore/System CD that came with your computer. When prompted, you can choose to repair the system without affecting any data or software programs. To do so, restart the computer with the CD inside and press R to start the Recovery Console. From there, you can access the drives on your computer and make any needed changes. This approach is effective if the computer is experiencing a problem with startup or is not working properly and no other remedy will work.
If you are experiencing problems that none of the aforementioned methods will correct, your last resort may be to use the Windows Installation CD, which will reinstall the operating system to it’s original configuration. This will erase all files, including data files, which means the only way to have a successful data recovery using this method is if you have saved back-up copies that you can access via CD-Rom or another computer and transfer them onto the reinstalled system.
In conclusion, the most successful data recovery will come from back-up copies and/or being able to use the Repair feature without affecting current files or programs. In some cases, the manufacturer of the computer may be able to recommend additional steps for data recovery, but the most common ones are outlined above.

Can a virus infect different computers connected to the same router?
Brothers computer got hacked, he basically lost his yahoo/gmail/facebook accounts. His running a malware scan so that should be cleared up. However, whatever malware or virus that got his computer, can it infect other computers that are connected to the same router my brothers laptop uses? I mean ya, a malware program can come from anywhere, but can it spread through a router like that?
Yes, absolutely. Think about what you’re asking. Can a virus, that’s transmitted through the internet to one machine, infect another machine on the same internet connection!!!☺
How To Upgrade Your Computer’s Graphics Card
Your graphics card is responsible for sending data to the monitor to display pictures, presentations, and videos that you love so much. That being the case,it would be a great benefit to you if you get and keep your graphics card up to date.
We all love to play those in depth, high resolution games and this is the main reason we either upgrade our graphics card or purchase a new computer altogether. And when we can use all of the cool features these games provide, they are an absolute blast.
If your graphics card seems slow you may want to update your current card by visiting its support web site and look for any patches or new device drivers.
Take the time to download and install these files and you should see a big leap in the performance of your graphics card. As you download the files, don’t forget where you saved them.
If your computer is getting old, keep in mind that older systems are equipped with slower processors. So if you have a 500 MHz CPU Chip you should consider upgrading the entire system rather than just the graphics card.
For the last several years there have been only two graohics card competitors designing gaming cards. The ATI and the Nvidia manufacturers should be considered when it comes to new card purchases.
How To Know Your Graphics Card
The first thing you should know is the name of the graphics card in your system unit.To determine your card by clicking on Start, Control Panel, and choosing Appearance and Themes.
Next choose Display and click on the settings tab. You should see the name of your graphics card. Visit your card’s web support site to see how old your card is and capabilities. Now you can decide how you want to upgrade.
After understanding your old card’s features and knowing its name, you’re now ready to decide how much you want to invest in a new card. You should update your graphics card even if your system is new.
Why you ask? New or not,if the graphics card is integrated on the motherboard, its performance is being handled by low end technology.
Some of the better graphic cards you should upgrade to would be the ATI or the Axxxxxxx Txxxxxxx Ixxxxxxx Radeon X800 or Nvidia’s GeForce FX 6800 chips.
Before installing your new card, delete any software and the old device driver for the old card.To remove this file, click on Start, Control Panel, click on Add and Remove programs. Now look for any references to your graphics card.
Look for such phrases as display drivers. You can remove them by selecting them and clicking on the Change/Remove button.
If your old graphics card was on the motherboard, you must disable it before you install your new card. To disable the integrated graphics, access your BIOS and look for referances to Onboard or Integrated devices.
Find the entry for graphics or display device and change the setting to disable or off. After this you save the changes and exit.
Now you can remove the old card if its in an empty adapter slot and install your new card.Read our article named How To Install A Graphics Card to learn this procedure step by step.
Newer graphics cards are designed for use with both CRT or Cathode Ray Tube and the LCD or the Liquid Crystal Display monitors.

How to share files with my other computers?
I just bought a new PC for my room. It is using a wireless adapter, not a cable. I also have an old computer in my basement, which hold all my school work. I want to send my school work to my new computer, but I don’t have a USB flash drive. Is there a way to share files with other computers at home? Old computer is using windows vista, and the new one is using windows 7.

Computers and Peripherals: a Central Theme
“The great thing about a computer notebook is that no matter how much you stuff into it, it doesn’t get bigger or heavier.” This was the statement made by Bill Gates putting forward his views on a computer notebook. It says all without fuss and air, but that does not lessen its significance.
The only constant thing in life is change and the evolution of human beings very truly reflects the essence of this statement. If not the latest, the most, if I may put it this way, impacting leap ever taken in the history of humankind. It has made an impact on the micro as well as the macro aspects of life on the planet.
Owning a computer no more comes under the category of luxury. The applications have multiplied and the users have risen exponentially. Let alone the direct interaction with computer, we are used to it in every sphere of human walk. Banking, Health industry, transportation, security- you name it and computers are there.
With the curves rising for demands of computer and the emergence of manufacturers who acknowledge and then respond to these needs, which include computer peripherals and accessories, the market is highly competitive and tilted on the consumer’s side.
Computer Hardware peripherals in the UK (viz. ram, USB hard drives, printers, scanners, routers, switches etc.) have a new platform now to reach out to a larger number of consumers, efficiently- thanks to internet and the world of online shopping.
Online shopping provides range and flexibility in prices to computer peripherals in the UK up to an extent of cashbacks and some heavy discounts. Their ambit is wider and promises have shown effects. If you can compare, these online shopping websites could well prove to be your space!

How can I successfully sync my ipod on two computers?
In the past, I’ve plugged in my ipod on the primary computer and another computer in my house. Both had itunes installed. However, whenever I plugged my ipod into the second computer, the files were erased off my ipod. Therefore, I had to plug it into the primary computer to retrieve the files again.
So, how can I save the same files on both computers without running the risk of deleted files?
I think you’d need to have identical library files– you could try transfering them (the audio and library file) to the SAME folder on your other computer via internet/ LAN line.
I’ve never tried this– but it seems like the logical procedure.
