How to Travel at a Discount

Everyone seems to be interested in learning how to travel at a discount. Why is this so important to people? Because the average American family spends $4,200 a year on their vacations. This amount could be drastictly reduced in the coming years, if the economy continues to decline. So now everyone is looking for a vacation deal, a bargin, a reduced travel rate, some type of discount on their travel. Because we all know, we all need that one or two weeks a year to get away, and take a vacation, or two. But how are we going to make it happen?

Many people have decided to become their own travel agent! Earn a little extra money from home booking travel for family and friends, while writing off their own family vacations on their taxes. And along with the normal travel perks, last minute travel deals, discounts, and tax breaks allowed to travel agents, people signing up with some travel companies can also take advantage of member trips offered.

Member trips are made available to all consultants and agents, the second they sign up. These discount travel vacations are the answer to creating a new lifestyle for yourself, your family and your friends.

With the special discount vacations, you can actually start taking the trips you\’ve always dreamed about taking…anywhere in the world! And the best part of it all, you get to travel at wholesale prices. Saving nearly half the price or more, of the very same trip offered through the competitors.

But a person really need to take a Member Trip to discover just what people are talking about!! This has become the affordable ticket people were waiting for to seeing the world!! And you are able to share this discounted price with up to three more people. So, you and three of your friends, your spouse, other family members, can enjoy the same savings on the same vacation, with you.

The member trips can usually be found on the company business website available to you as an agent or consultant. You could also ask an agent to see a sneak peak at the trips to compare their value. And more member trips (travel deals) continue to be added monthly. This is a much better solution to saving money on your next vacation than any time share venture you may have looked at in the past.

What is the best Philippine Tourism Website?

Currently, what do you think is the best Philippine Tourism Website out there and why?

If you believe that all the current ones are not that good what do you suggest should be done & how can people (especially Filipinos) be proactive in promoting & helping out?

The http://www.tourism.gov.ph/ is good; but, the Tourism Department can do better by updating it quarterly or biannually.

Other good tourism sites are the Philippines’ provincial and city websites where each province, town or city feature their main tourist attractions.

There are also websites created by volunteers who promote their locality’s main and not so popular attractions.

Here are some websites.

http://www.palawantourism.com/

http://www.baguio.gov.ph/

http://www.gobaguio.com/

http://www.batangasnow.com/

http://www.wayblima.com/cebu-visitors-guide.shtml

Add:

Agree with Tina and Jan-na on Ivan Henares and wayspoint.

There are also other sites to check out.

http://www.wowparadisephilippines.com/

http://www.eparadisephilippines.com/

http://inogami.com/paradise-philippines/about-paradise-philippines/

Still, the most effective way to promote our country is by word of mouth; and, how we conduct ourselves, as Filipinos, at home and in other countries.

BTW, Boracay made it again to Trip Advisor’s Top Ten Beac Destinations.

Top 10: Beach Destinations
Enjoy breathtaking sand, water and relaxation at these top 10 beach destinations:
1. St-Tropez, France
2. Sydney, Australia
3. Fiji
4. Corfu, Greece
5. St. Vincent, Caribbean
6. Seychelles
7. Boracay, Philippines
8. Canary Islands, Spain
9. Maldives
10. Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand

What types of jobs are there in the Travel and Tourism Industry?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to work in Travel and Tourism. I just love the idea of travelling the world. However, I don’t really want to become an Air Hostess, or Travel Agent.
Can anyone give me a list of other Careers in the Industry?

Hello i have just taking the Travel & Tourism First Diploma at college as i though the same liked the idea of traveling. There are not many practical jobs in the industry as i have now found out . You could be a Tour Rep or an oversea’s rep basically the same thing, but you get to stay in a country up to 6 months, you would have to speak another language though . Your could work in a hotel which can have options to travel as you could work in a hotel anywhere in the world . You could work as part of a Tour Operator which can allow you to travel also.
Maybe you should look for a change in direction and look at somthing different .
hope this helps :)

Tips for Taking Picture During Travel

Travelling is fun and enjoyable. You will see new places and events that you never experience before. Isn’t that worth capturing on photo? This kind of memory is priceless when you look at them in the future.

So, here are some tips to share with you about travel photography

1. Know your destination

When you are going for a trip, you ought to check the weather at your destination. Plan ahead what you need to bring and how much space you have for your digital camera.

It is nice that you are going somewhere sunny and bright. Then you will have plenty of space for your camera instead of stuffing your luggage with the equipments. When you plan to take picture at the beach, see that you will bring protective gears to protect your camera because sand can ruin your camera and lens.

2. The gears

Since you already know where you are going, you will have the idea of what you are going to photograph. Let’s say that you are on a hiking trip, what you will see is mostly scenery. So, probably you can leave your telephoto lens and pack the wide angle lens for your trip. However, when you are on a trip to Africa, where wild life is your subject, probably you will need that telephoto lens so you can stay away from the lions when you are taking their pictures.

Besides that, have you thought of using a compact digital camera instead of the DSLR? Some point and shoot cameras are build with wide angle lens and high optical zoom. If you are unsatisfied with the pictures, you can always edit them with editing software when you are back from your trip.

3. The right accessories

Now, when you are taking picture during your travel, you will have hard choices of what to keep and what not. Most of the time, you will take a few pictures on the same subject. So, probably you will want to bring more memory cards or a bigger capacity storage media.

Have you ever thought of storage online? Now you can keep your images online and a lot of these services are free. When you need more space, you can always upgrade your account. In this way, you will solve the frustration of giving up any pictures.
